I’m Dale. I’m Graphic Designer based in Grand Rapids, MI.

My artistic background began with music. When I was 8, I started picking up and learning different instruments starting with the violin and the guitar. Playing music gave me a hobby I loved to do and helped me grow as both a person and a young creative. Once I found graphic design through a single class in highschool, I realized that every aspect I found appealing about music could be implemented to the design process in one way or another. I realized that just similar to a song, design must communicate a message both clearly and emotionally.

In 2016, I went to Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, MI to start my graphic design degree. After taking a semester off, I transferred to Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI to fully surround myself with medium. Throughout my time, my basic knowledge was built upon and my personal style developed.

The key to my design philosophy is simplicity. In most cases less is more. Even a complex message can be shown with very little on the page or on the screen. The same way a simple chorus can hook your ears to a song, a simple advertisement or logo can stay in your head.
